We are perplexed by the disappearance of our favorites, feel lost for a moment, and find ourselves staring at that skyline where heaven meets the earth. Entering into the flow of the beyond, we too transform in time whether we like it or not.

 

Transmutations in the land occur due to historical movements, and the remnants under the epithelial layer of the soil breathe-in and breathe-out ancient memories. They transport us into the myths and the realities of history and remind us that we are also an integral part of this shadow-play of erasures and excavations. One could spot the signs of all the changes. I usually draw from that sequence of visuals.

 

We fly above the problems to have an aerial perspective of the whole maze. The new vision is internalized through the openings in the layers of the clouds. The collection of these memory-patches of clarity is valuable, like a ceremonial quilt of various revelations stitched together. One could see the inner world through this collage of remembrances. The conjuring process is interactive, between working in a medium and the insights gained along the way. It is the experiential knowledge gained while creating something. Merely talking about it has not much value.

Both the visible and the invisible co-mingle and this dual nature of our experiences have various implications. As an art practitioner, I excavate and document both the balance and its disruptions. The art process is solace and refuge to me, and I believe its ultimate objective is to cultivate self-reflection.
